The Communication and Humanities Research Center (CIComH) was created to carry out research activities related to communication and humanities, as well as to offer specialized training, popularize knowledge and provide advanced services, responding to the challenges of the information society. and the needs of Bolivia.

CIComH carries out projects related to the use of Information and Communication Technologies within the framework of social phenomena. With a predominantly qualitative and transdisciplinary investigative approach, its activities are framed in cultural studies, media analysis, political communication and philosophy of technology, among others. Since its foundation, CIComH has film studies as one of its main lines of research, paying special attention to Bolivian cinema, conducting historical and thematic studies, as well as research related to modes of production, distribution channels, and marketing.

CIComH contributes to the training in communication and humanities of students, researchers and teachers, promotes inter-institutional academic dialogue and works to strengthen relations with institutions that have similar lines of research.
